Celebrity Tattoos: Christina Aguilera
by admin on Jan.03, 2010, under Art
Since it is Wednesday it is time for another celebrity tattoo post. I will be honest I knew that Christina had two tattoos but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she has a total of five. This just goes to show that you can have tattoos and people not know about it. Also I think Christina tries really hard to cover her tats up. It’s been reported that she buys special make up to cover up her tattoos because Hollywood still sees tattoos as a no no if you have too many.
Anyways, Christina has “Xtina” tattooed on the back of her neck, small sort of very small flower on her wrist, an unknown design on you bikini line, a tattoo on her left forearm that reads “Te Amo Siempre” which is Spanish for “I love you always”. In the middle of the tattoo she’s got the two Hebrew letters “Y” and “B”, which are now hubby Jordan Bartman’s initials. She also has “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine” tattooed in Hebrew on the small of her back.
Christina says that her and Jordan decided to get tattoo for each other as wedding presents. Jordan got “I love CA forever” tattooed in Hebrew on him and she got “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine” on the small of her back. They decided to get inked to remember their special day of becoming husband and wife. I do think it is rather sweet that they got these tattoos, so I hope that they will stay together forever and do not regret getting those tats that they have.

BRIAN WILSON & PETER BLAKE LAUNCH NEW COLLABORATION WITH SECRET ACOUSTIC GIG
by admin on Sep.17, 2009, under Art
Brian Wilson played an intimate eight song acoustic set in London on Thursday (July 2), to mark the launch of a new collector’s book and print set published with Sir Peter Blake based on recent album That Lucky Old Sun.
The cloth-bound hand-numbered box set of original collages by iconic artist Sir Peter Blake is published by Genesis Publications and also contains reproduced handwritten sheet music and lyrics for the album track “Midnight’s Another Day.” Their accompanying numbered book is hand-signed by both authors, Wilson and Blake.
As Brian prepares to tour Europe and North America in 2009, this fine art boxed book and print set will launch with just 1,000 copies available worldwide. Described by Brian as “a spiritual record”, it includes 12 exclusive new prints created by Peter, presented as numbered, fine art serigraphs.
The series of original collages draw their inspiration from the music of Brian Wilson’s new masterpiece, offering a moving tribute to Southern California and a celebration of Brian’s life and career. Sir Peter Blake comments, “It is extremely satisfying to bring the California that Brian sees to the page. That Lucky Old Sun is a ‘collage of sound’ which I’m very happy to make visual.”
Brian Wilson is the creative force behind some of the most cherished recordings in history and one of the most influential composers of the last century. That Lucky Old Sun first appeared as a live performance commissioned by the Royal Festival Hall, London, in 2007. A year later the work was developed in the studio and the result was Brian’s first new full-length album in many years.
The pioneer of “Pop Art”, Sir Peter Blake is an elected member of the Royal Academy, an associate artist of The National Gallery and, in 2003, more than forty years after his first solo exhibition, was knighted by Her Majesty The Queen for services to fine art.
Brian Wilson played the secret gig at a London private members club to mark the release of a new box set of collages based around his recent album That Lucky Old Sun.
Wilson, backed by three members of his touring band, performed That Lucky Old Sun album tracks as well as classic hits at the private launch at members bar 1 Alfred Place in London’s West End.

About Genesis Publications
Brian Roylance founded Genesis Publications in 1974. His aim was to start a unique publishing company true to the arts of printing and craftsmanship and to establish a community shared by its authors and readers. Years later, in 1995, he found himself explaining the nature of hand-bound books in an interview with the New York Times and noted, “I suppose to some extent I am stuck in a time warp. I don’t know of many people who go to this much trouble to produce a book anymore. But I think there is a future for it.” Today, Genesis is headed by Brian’s son and daughter. Many other publishers have been inspired by the work of Genesis but few, if any, have matched the attention to design and craftsmanship for which Genesis has become known. As a result, over 35 years since work began on the first book, Genesis has developed a reputation for exceptional signed limited editions.

Angelina Jolie tattoos
Angelina Jolie Brief Biography
Born June 4, 1975, as Angelina Jolie Voight to parents Marcheline Bertrand and Jon Voight, this Academy Award-winning actress (Best Supporting Actress, 1999, Girl, Interrupted) has also won three Golden Globes and two Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards. Before getting into acting, Angelina made her living as a fashion model.
Angelina Jolie is a well-known humanitarian and philanthropist, supporting several causes across the globe, including working with refugees through UNHCR (Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees).
Tattooed actress Angelina Jolie and her husband Pitt have two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, and a biological child, Shiloh.
Jolie achieved international fame for her portrait of videogame heroine Lara Croft in 2001 and since then established herself as one of the best known and highest paid actresses in Hollywood. As Lara Croft in Tomb Raider or the female assassin half of Mr. and Mrs. Smith you won’t see a single tattoo. Her tattoos are covered with makeup for her movie roles. Multiple sources report that during the Tomb Raider shoot, the makeup applied wasn’t doing a good enough job of covering the large “Billy Bob” and black dragon on her left upper arm and a digital artist was hired to go frame by frame through the film and make sure no trace of skin art could be seen.Angelina Jolie’s tattoos are perhaps just as well known as her trademark pouty lips and her performances on the silver screen. Angelina Jolie is the “world’s most beautiful woman,” according to the “100 Most Beautiful” issue of People magazine in 2006, and a large part of that probably has to do with her tattoos.
Angelina Jolie has had several tattoos done over the years, and she continues to frequently add new ones or change existing ones. They are not there purely for cosmetic purposes either, as it is said that each tattoo has a special meaning behind it. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it does give you a bit of insight into the personality, thinking, and preferences of the popular actress. Angelina Jolie is one of the most photographed women in the world – and now one of the most tattooed.

Michael Jackson’s Legend Seems To Live On
by admin on Jul.01, 2009, under Art
rue king of pop is back to the throne. Those who thought that the child molestation charge, the bankruptcy fiasco that might lead to the painful, among fans, neverland sale, would dethrone him have another thing coming. The musician with nine lives is a legend who seems to live on.We all remember the 5 year old sensation; lead vocalist of his brothers’ singing group, The Jackson 5, warming himself into every American soul. Then the album, ‘thriller’, literally sweeping us off our feet, what with the excellent voice and divine dance moves. The king of pop later sold billions of records and signed lucrative promotional deals with Pepsi and AOL, making him one of the richest billionaires in the world and one of the most influential entertainers the world over. In fact his famous white hand gloves would easily be sold for a whooping one million! Then, boom! It all tumbled down like a pack of cards. It began with plastic surgery; a nose job to a new chin to a scary looking jaw. Someone in fact, said that he eventually resembled a ghoul that makes mother’s children cry. The last straw was the child molestation charge that lowered his fan base, heightened hate mails and cancelled the promotional deals. The album ‘invisible’ sold only 2 million copies prompting him to term Sony as racists and lazy allegedly for not promoting the album well.Court cases coupled with bankruptcy ripples followed suit. One such case was the $21 million suit filed by his long time promoter Marcel Avram for reneging on a new year concert contract, a concert that ‘Wacky Jacko’ said he thought were cancelled and was therefore at home watching TV. The most recent is the case filed by a prince of Oman who accused Jackson of defaulting on a recording deal to which the prince had paid a million dollars. This was later settled out of court. As if his woes were not enough, his third wife Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of the legendary Elvis Presley, divorced him in the midst of the molestation charge accusing him of manipulatively using her.Eminent sale or worse, auction, of the multi million ranch, Neverland; debts accruing to million of dollars are just some of the depressing issues that beset the king.Signs of his comeback, however, began when in a protracted molestation battle, the court found him innocent of all charges. Soon he was off to Oman where it was said he had gone on vocation at the invite of the King himself. His nose seems to hold from falling off after a corrective surgery done by the German plastic surgeon Werner Mang. His breathing also seems to have caught up.But, the greatest news of all is that the King of Pop, the musician per excellence recently launched a comeback music concert! The concert held in London elicited mixed reactions amongst critics and fans alike, but, trudging along the streets and his hotel in London his fan base remained undisputed. Not even the Queen elicits so much excitement as Michael Jackson garnered. Everywhere he went screams of ladies and gentlemen with portable digital cameras were heard.Tickets were completely sold in the fastest ever selling time in London. Now who can ever do this if not a king whose legend still lives on, Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson Top 5 Hits Of All Time
by admin on Jun.29, 2009, under Art
ackson is one solo artist that has had his hits hit the top of the pop singles charts. Several of his hits have been ranked as the most successful and have fished in large fans. He is one innovative and successful artist of all time. Here are top five singles of all time done by the artist:1 ‘Billie Jean’This is one of the singles that signaled and called in a lot of fans for the artist. The song was written by Michael Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones; it remains a masterpiece up to date. The song was a real life experience and inspiritation from Jackson when he was accused of fathering a baby of one of his fans, something that lived inside him for many days till when he decided to write this song. It was released in 1983 and spent seven weeks at the top pop singles chart in the same year.2 ‘Black or White’Black or white was released four years since the album bad produced consecutive number one singles. some artists in the music industry doubted weather Jackson would make it with the high commercial clouts, but their doubts soon faded away when Jackson released his single ”black or white” which stayed #1 in the chart for seven consecutive weeks. The major theme or message in the song is a powerful plea for racial unity instead of racial hatred. The video is perfectly done and funs could not stop at nothing to watch the video.3 ‘Say Say Say’This was the second time Jackson did a collabo after he did one with the same artist-Paul McCartney in 1982 with the song ”the girl is mine”, it was true success and Jackson therefore embarked on another song-say say with the same artist in 1983.the result was even surprising than the previous song in 1982, it stayed #1 in the chart for six consecutive weeks. It also hit the market with a lot of people liking the song. I must say it was and is still a great song.4 ‘Rocks with You’Jackson released the rock with you single in 1979, following the smash song ‘don’ stop ’till you get enough”.jackson basically proved to the world that he was perfectly well at soul as well, the song was part of the last gap of the disco era with fans dancing to it like no bodies business. The hit attracted a large number of fans as compared to the rest of the songs.5 ‘Beat It’This was the third release off the album Thriller; it basically filled in any remaining walls for the recording artist. The song featured a blistering guitar solo from rocker Eddie Van Halen, with a video that broke barriers for black recording artists MTV.Beat it was an instant performing hit that left many looking forward for more great hits from recording artist, Michael Jackson.Jackson’s hits of all time live in many today; he is one influential and much more successful artist of all time. Long live Jackson!
Celebrity Tattoos: Johnny Depp
by admin on May.27, 2009, under Art
Well you all know what today is. It’s Wednesday so that means it’s time for another edition of celebrity tattoos. This week I decided to go with Johnny Depp. I have had a crush on his since the 21 Jump Street Days and the man seems to get better looking the older he gets. Not to mention that Johnny just nailed the top position of being the highest paid actor in Hollywood right now. Johnny is earning $50 million a picture now. Well if you are a fan of Johnny Depp you know that he has quit a bit of tattoos.
Johnny has 14 known tattoos to date. The most famous of those 14 is probably the Wino Forver tattoo he has on his arm. Which used to read Winona Forvever. He also has a Cherokee Indian Chief in full headdress below the Wino Forever tattoo on his arm. This one is to remember his ancestral cultural heritage.
Johnny also has several tattoos that pertain to his family. He has Lily Rose his daughters name tattooed over his heart. He has his son’s name Jack tattooed his forearm with a Sparrow flying over water above that one. He also has a tattoo of Betty Sue which is his mother in the middle of a heart on his bicep. Above that there is some sort of triangle tattoo. He also has the symbol for The Brave a movie he did tattooed on the inside of his forearm.
Johnny also has some random tattoos on his body. Like the three rectangles on his right index finger and the number three between his thumb and index finger on his left hand. Johnny also has a skull and cross bones tattoo on his lower right leg that reads death is certain and some sort of symbol or something on his right ankle.
Johnny explains the reasoning behind all of his tattoos and why he has so many:
“My body is a journal in a way. It’s like what sailors used to do, where every tattoo meant something, a specific time in your life when you make a mark on yourself, whether you do it yourself with a knife or with a professional tattoo artist”.
